What's the event?
Participants will start by doing a guided hike up one of the most well known trails in Gatineau Park, located within Canada's National Capital region. The following three days we will undertake a fully supported bicycle ride from Ottawa, Ontario to Burlington, Vermont. We will take you through Montréal and along the shores of Lake Champlain towards our destination. You will be supported by a bus, luggage truck, and volunteers.
Along with the physical challenges, we will be celebrating Canada Day on July 1st and Independence Day when we arrive on July 4th. Additionally, each day participants will be led by a noted mental health practitioner in learning about and putting into practice key resiliency skills such as yoga, meditation, and mindfulness.
In our pursuit towards a healthy life, The Human Behind the Responder is bringing First Responders together on a journey to solidify mental health skills and tools each can store in their personal toolbox. We also hope participants will find the physical challenges appealing too!
